acupuncture .   what is nutritional therapy?
The British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) defines Nutritional Therapy as the use of dietary intervention and judicious supplementation for the maintenance of health and prevention of disease, which is complimentary to orthodox medicine.

Nutritional Therapy encompasses the use of carefully compiled individual recommendations for diet and lifestyle change, in order to promote health, over time. These recommendations may include guidance on natural detoxification methods, procedures to promote colon health, methods to support digestion and absorption of nutrients, awareness and avoidance of certain immune-stimulating or allergenic substances, and more.

Nutritional Therapists often work with patients who have chronic health problems that conventional medicine finds difficult to treat. These may include allergies, digestive and bowel disorders, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, depression, stress, auto-immune conditions, migraine and skin disorders, obesity or weight gain and children affected by learning or behavioural difficulties.

Nutritional Therapists must meet the national occupational standards for this profession and are under the regulation of the Nutritional Therapy Council.

Our aim is to achieve:

  • Abundant energy
  • Strong joints
  • Super-immunity
  • Enhanced mood and memory
  • Pain-free exercise
  • Quick recovery

Your consultation

Before
You will be asked to complete a nutritional questionnaire, capturing information about your medical history, health concerns, eating habits and wellbeing goals.

During
We will discuss the completed questionnaire and agree your health goals during the first hour-long consultation. You will leave with a tailor-made nutrition and wellness plan. You may not need to make drastic changes to your diet and lifestyle to see significant improvements!

After
A follow up consultation is recommended in order to chart progress, discuss next steps and possible future appointments. Our aim is to assess and help you reach your goals in as few consultations as possible.

Diagnostic testing may be recommended in order to pinpoint any underlying reasons for health concerns. The results from these established laboratory tests will be interpreted and explained by your consultant.

Nutritional supplements may be recommended in order to boost wellbeing and maximise positive change as quickly as possible.
