‘L’art du Chi’ method of tai chi chuan uses a variety of techniques to access and develop the body’s
natural ‘vital’ energy - chi.
Devised by Vlady Stevanovitch, the class begins with clear and practical exercises include breathing,
relaxation and visualisation techniques. These assist the practitioners to relax and re-energize themselves and, practiced over time, underpin the practice of the postures (sequence of movements). Then a selection of
traditional qi gong exercises prepares the body for the slow, fluid movements of the 24 postures
(Yang short form). These movements strengthen the lower body and core while relaxing the upper body and correction general posture.
An important aspect of this pedagogy is the tangible exercises that work with the Dan Dien (physical centre of life energy). This is a traditional aspect of tai chi chuan approached through modern techniques.
There is no philosophy or belief system connected to this method and it does not involve any competitive aspect.
